Fighting TB stigma in Zambia

Toolkit promotes education at community-level

In areas of high HIV prevalence TB has become hard to control, as those with HIV are vulnerable to the disease. The associated stigma can deter sufferers from getting the help they need.

ZAMBART, a research NGO in Zambia, and the International AIDS Alliance have developed an anti stigma toolkit. The aim is to combat TB stigma by training community facilitators to educate people about the disease.

Global Health TV talks with Alexandra Hyde from the TARGETS Consortium, a UK-based research program that supports the project.
