Community Scorecard - Empowering Communities

Interact Worldwide

With support of the World Bank, Interact Worldwide has successfully trained partner organizations in Malawi, Uganda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, India and Pakistan in using the Community Score Card. They are now seeing positive results. The process has been effective in promoting accountability, fostering community engagement, identifying gaps and weaknesses in service provision and building community capacity to work with Government and health service providers. Jolene Innis from Interact Worldwide talks to Sam Hughes about empowering communities.

  • This sounds like a great tool. I am a community health worker in the Philippines, and would like to know how I can bring the community scorecard into communities here. Empowering communities and strengthening local health systems are two of our top health priorities in our organization, Gawad Kalinga. (www.gawadkalinga.com)
