COPD Uncovered
An increase is seen in younger people with the disease
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a debilitating, life-threatening progressive lung disease that interferes with normal breathing. COPD is thought of as an older person's disease but up to 70% of patients with COPD are under 65 years of age. The prevalence of COPD is increasing in younger age groups, particularly women. Global Health TV reports on the necessity for policy makers and stakeholders to invest now in tackling COPD.
