UN report hopes to highlight Business coalitions
Business coalitions are having a positive impact in the workplace, the UN has announced.
The coalitions, which were launched to enable businesses to tackle Aids in the workplace, have been taken up 47 nations and over one million companies.
Richard Samans, managing director at the Global Health Initiative (GHI) of the World Economic Forum which established the initiative, said that a recent report launched into the coalitions hoped to "spur further engagement and action by businesses".
"Business coalitions help individual companies respond to the pandemic more effectively through collaboration, in particular by providing them with tools and processes that have been developed and tested in practice by their peers."
"As businesses strive for excellence in local markets, they rely on their workforce to help deliver this vision. Protecting employees from the threat of Aids is a key business challenge for companies working in high prevalence areas," added Mark Foster, chair of the GHI's non-executive board.
