Shazam joins fight against malaria, TB and Aids
A new app for the iPhone which can help users find music and aid the fight against several diseases has been launched.
Shazam, an online music search engine, and charity group (PRODUCT) RED have teamed up to produce the facility.
The app helps users identify music tracks in exchange for a £2.99 fee and has previously been released for the iPhone.
However, this latest version sees a percentage of the facility's price donated to (PRODUCT) RED.
The money generated will be spent on tackling numerous issues facing people living in Africa.
These include malaria, tuberculosis, HIV and Aids.
(PRODUCT) RED has been able to donate $140 million (£83 million) to such causes through link-ups with other companies.
The charity has collaborated with firms including American Express, Starbucks, Converse, Hallmark, Dell and Microsoft.
A percentage of the company's profits are donated to the Global Fund, which helps to fight diseases such as malaria, TB and Aids in Africa.
