Photo exhibition tackles TB
A new exhibition of photography based around tackling tuberculosis has been launched, with photographs from all over India included.
It is described as showing the imagery of challenges faced by TB patients and is called Because I Care I Am Stopping TB.
There are 53 shots from renowned photojournalist Subhash Sharma and he believes the collection shows undying hope in adversity, as well as different responses to treatment.
It is intended to encourage more initiatives to fight the disease and reiterate the message that TB is curable if prolonged effort is taken to stop it.
Mr Sharma stated: "There are always many sources of inspiration for the one who wants to create.
"It is just a matter of sensing it and reacting to it. Through my photographs, I have endeavored to showcase matters of concern in India, TB being one of them."
The Lilly MDR-TB Partnership was involved in this project and has had the ultimate goal since its creation in 2004 of "a TB-free India".
