New campaign from Save The Children
A new campaign has been launched to help stop millions of preventable deaths in developing countries.
Save The Children has announced the EVERY ONE initiative, which is focusing on getting world leaders to put more effort into reducing child mortality.
A new survey from the charity found that people around the world think it costs far more to save lives than it actually does.
However, 68 per cent of respondents believe that the number of dying children could be reduced if leaders take action.
Charlotte Petri Gomitzka, secretary general of Save the Children, said: "The pressure to push world leaders to act simply isn't there, partly because of public perceptions that it's too costly to do anything about it quickly.
"But the public is right on this point: child deaths in poor countries can be stopped, and our campaign is urging EVERY ONE to say so, so that global leaders have no excuse not to act."
Save The Children has also published a seven-point plan to cut child deaths called the Next Revolution.
