Mobile booklet to fight AIDS

A new booklet that provides information on AIDS prevention has been launched for downloading straight on to mobile phones.

For the first time, an AIDS resource can be used via mobile phones, following the unveiling of the B the Future mobile book by CellBook and Metropolitan Life, one of the largest insurance firms in South Africa.

The social initiative has been predicted to have the potential of reaching 30 million South African people.

Nathea Nicolay, Metropolitan AIDS risk consulting manager, stated: "We want to educate South Africans to know their status and take personal responsibility for managing their health.

"If we are going to beat this epidemic, we need a widespread behaviour change. B the Future aims to educate people on how to live positively and also to prevent new infections."

A cheap rate has been arranged for people to get the mobile book through text messages, in order to receive the help they need with any AIDS-related concerns.
