Manchester United stars support HIV cause
Manchester United footballers have been offering support to HIV sufferers in China.
The club has been in Asia on a pre-season tour and Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Carrick joined up with Unicef as part of the trip.
They attended a project called A Skills for Life in a Box, which is a joint scheme from Unicef and the government of China that helps to prevent HIV transmission and reduce discrimination against people with the disease.
Berbatov, who is a Unicef Bulgaria ambassador, said: "Young people are accounting for a growing number of new HIV infections, and in many cases simply because youngsters dont know how to protect themselves.
"Educating young people about HIV prevention is essential. This is why we are here today. To support Unicef's work and to encourage young people to learn the facts about HIV."
More than £2 million has been raised by a partnership between Manchester United and Unicef, which started ten years ago.
