INDEX targets Aids awareness

Aids awareness is set to be on the agenda at a major event to be held in India over the weekend.

Between November 26th and 28th, the INDEX 2009 fair will take place.

The annual event is organised by students at the Indian Institute of Management in Lucknow and centres on using games and competitions to educate attendees on a variety of issues.

This year, as part of the run-up to World Aids Day on December 1st, Aids awareness will be among the key themes of the show.

Pranav Sethi, part of the team that is organising INDEX, told the Indian Express about the aim of the event.

He said: "We wish to take Aids awareness ahead of merely pasting posters. At INDEX, we will educate people through games. We will also organise an inter-college competition on street plays on the theme - stop discriminating against people living with HIV."

The INDEX 2009 fair will be held at the Colvin Taluqdars College.
