China reveals African anti-malaria measures
China has announced a series of schemes to help Africa fight malaria.
Wen Jiabao, the Chinese premier, revealed that the nation is committed to building 30 new anti-malaria centres in Africa, ten of which are to be built in the next year.
At a press conference the premier outlined numerous ways in which his country will help with the issue.
This included support for Africa's infrastructure, agriculture, health and education.
As well as the anti-malaria centres, China is building 30 new hospitals, which could also help Africa's fight against HIV and Aids.
Training is also being given to experts that will work in these medical centres, with these individuals taking part in ten-day courses to improve their knowledge and capabilities.
In other news, aid body Medecins Sans Frontiers claimed that funding cuts could hinder the fight against Aids.
The organisation suggested that a lack of money could result in patients being turned away by health workers.
