Appeal for children's health in Yemen
A new appeal to raise funds to help children receive healthcare in Yemen has been launched by health authorities.
Unicef is trying to raise more than $6 million (£3.66 million) in order to provide higher quality health treatments to young people in the country.
The organisation is also focusing on other humanitarian issues, such as hygiene conditions, access to safe water, education and food.
Aboudou Karimou Adjibade, Unicef representative in Yemen, said: "Children have been deeply affected by this conflict and will continue to feel its impact for many years to come.
"The international community needs to rally together to help all those children who have little if any access to food, health, education and protection."
Approximately one quarter of a million people are expected to benefit from the new funding, including 250,000 children aged under five.
The project is part of a larger Flash Appeal, which is arranged by the UN and involves a large number of humanitarian groups working together to tackle humanitarian issues.
